According to the Anne Arundel County police, around 9 p.m. officers responded to the 800 block of Ritchie Highway for a car crash involving a pedestrian. Jeffrey Simmons, 45, was killed after being struck by a 2012 Toyota sedan. He was taken to a hospital where he would be pronounced dead.
