A motorcyclist lost their life in a shocking hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning on Highway 249 near Greens Road in north Houston after colliding with stolen construction equipment.

A devastating wrong-way collision on Highway 249 in Grimes County, Texas, claimed two lives on Saturday morning, prompting a complete closure of the highway for several hours.

A man was hit and killed Wednesday night when he was crossing Highway 249 at Medical Complex Road in Tomball around 9:15 p.m.  The driver remained at the scene with the man until emergency crews arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

A woman is in the hospital after crashing her car in northwest Harris County.

According to Harris County sheriff’s deputies, the woman lost control of her vehicle car early Wednesday morning and hit a curb on the feeder road of Highway 249 near the Beltway.
