Fatal crash closes I-35 south of Des Moines
One person is dead after a crash involving four to five vehicles, including a semi, closed Interstate 35 south of Des Moines on Thursday night, according to Iowa State Patrol.

The Patrol said the crash occurred in a construction zone that had only one usable northbound lane and one southbound lane.
Two cars traveling southbound crossed over into the northbound lane and one of the cars hit a semi head-on.
