Police ID Pedestrian Struck, Killed By MARC Train

Police say Hernandez was near the tracks, but was had the hood of his jacket on his head, which may have obscured his vision.

All service along the MARC Brunswick Line was suspended until at least 6 p.m. following the fatality, rail officials said.

Teen Struck, Killed by MARC Train in Gaithersburg Monday Afternoon

A Gaithersburg city official told News4 Hernandez was walking with a hood on his head, earbuds on and a cell phone in hand at the time of the crash.

Hernandez was killed after he entered the path of a moving MARC train and was struck by it in the afternoon. So far the only explanation for why Hernandez entered the path of the train was that he was wearing a hood, which may have prevented him from seeing it.
