Two MBTA bus drivers and three passengers suffered minor injuries this morning after their buses “made contact” while the vehicles were traveling eastbound on the Massachusetts Turnpike near the Prudential tunnel, the MBTA said.

“[One] bus was traveling at reduced speeds when it made contact with the rear of the stopped bus in front of it,” a MBTA spokesman said in an e-mail.
The 501 and 505 MBTA buses crashed at 8:20 a.m.
The driver of the 501 bus, a woman, reported back pain following the crash. The driver of the 505 bus, a man, reported leg pain. Three passengers also requested medical attention for back pain.
All five people were taken to Tufts Medical Center for evaluation.
State Police closed the right lane while the buses were towed, creating some slight traffic delays.
Passengers on both buses were transferred to another bus.
