Woman struck while crossing Rainier: ‘I have never been so scared and alone’
A woman who was struck while walking across Rainier Ave January 23 spoke to King 5 recently about what it has been like to recover physically and get through the trauma of being struck in a crosswalk by someone in a pickup who fled the scene.
A pedestrian, identified as Myurie Ausler, was at Rainier Avenue South and South Massachusetts Street when she was struck by a pickup truck, the driver of which did not stop at the red light. As Ausler was lying in the roadway, unable to move, she says she saw the pickup truck slow down and hesitate before eventually driving away. Two good Samaritans finally helped her out of the street and called 911 to get her medical attention. Now both Ausler and Seattle police are looking for any information they can get on this hit-and-run driver, who was reported to be driving a white 1998 Ford Ranger pickup truck, that may have a Washington license plate numbered B33705Z.
